The Delta Issue #100

Take Our Survey and Help Shape the Next 100 Deltas

Hi y’all, Jessica and Kunjan here.

This is the 100th issue of The Delta.

When we first started The Delta in 2024, we had a lot of ideas about what it takes to improve outcomes for kids, but we weren’t sure whether there would be much appetite for a newsletter focused on the nuts and bolts of state education policy.

One hundred issues later, The Delta has surpassed both of our expectations tenfold. We’re incredibly grateful for this community of state leaders, district leaders, educators, researchers, advocates, and policy wonks who want to have practical conversations about what it takes to improve outcomes for kids. We read every comment and every repost, and it is still surreal when our readers come up to us at events to tell us they look forward to reading our newsletters every week.

Writing The Delta has changed how we think. It’s forced us to step back from the day-to-day, turn half-formed thoughts into cohesive ideas, explain complicated policy topics more clearly, and wrestle with questions that don’t always have easy answers. Writing each issue has been rewarding, but some of our biggest breakthroughs have come from the conversations that happened after we hit publish.

For Issue 100, we’re turning the microphone over to you. Whether you’ve been reading The Delta since Issue 1 or just discovered us yesterday, we’d love your input on what we should cover, who you’d like to hear from, and how we can make this space even more useful.

Please take two minutes to fill out our short survey. Your feedback makes us better.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and helping build this community. We can’t wait to see where the next 100 issues take us.

The Delta. Change is possible.
