Sarah Shepherd

Sarah Shepherd shares with the Watershed Advisors team a strong belief that education is a crucial mechanism to serve the most vulnerable children in our nation. In seeking to influence equitable policy and initiatives, she hopes to create opportunities for all students to be successful.

Sarah is currently serving as a research analyst at Watershed Advisors, supporting our initiatives in the early childhood education sector. She is a recent graduate from the University of Virginia, where she majored in Youth and Social Innovation with a concentration in Education Policy. There, she worked as a research assistant investigating how learning in a makerspace environment affects students’ autonomy and collaboration as well as their emotional investment in the learning process. She is interested in exploring how systems can be altered to offer students an education experience that is not only enriching but engaging. She currently resides in her home state of Virginia, in the city of Charlottesville.
