Rathna Ramesh
Rathna Ramesh is an Analyst at Watershed Advisors on the K–12 Systems team. She is passionate about leveraging data and building coherent systems to drive tangible change for students.
Prior to joining Watershed, Rathna worked in both classrooms and policy roles. She began her career as a high school math teacher in Houston, and then taught K–12 pediatric patients at the National Institutes of Health while they received long-term medical treatment. She later worked with the City of Las Vegas during her master’s program, analyzing data on school metrics to inform strategic planning. Her experiences have shaped her commitment to creating practices that address both systemic barriers for students and the day-to-day realities of educators.
Rathna holds an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Analysis from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. in Social Policy Analysis from Rice University. Originally from Maryland, she now resides in New York City. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, trying new recipes, and reading.
