Meghan McLeroy

Meghan McLeroy is a proven education leader with more than a decade of experience in state government designing solutions to bridge policy to classroom implementation, creating and implementing coherent approaches to scaling change across large systems.

Before joining Watershed Advisors as a Managing Director in Residence, Meghan served as the Chief of Statewide Supports for the Tennessee Department of Education. In this role she transformed the agency’s district support strategy through a significant redesign and restructure of its regional service centers, resulting in a first-of-its-kind model for coherent district support aligned with agency strategic priorities.

Meghan also led Tennessee’s human capital division, including the launch of the first federally recognized teaching apprenticeship program in the nation, scaling from one participating program to nine across the state in less than a year. Meghan joined the Tennessee Department of Education in 2011 as the Director of Race to the Top.

Meghan previously worked at Teach For America as the Director of Government Affairs. She also served as a Legislative Aide in the U.S. House of Representatives until she left to pursue a career in education in 2006, teaching second grade in Charlotte, N.C. Meghan currently resides in Nashville, Tenn., with her husband and three step-daughters.
