Lauren Day

Lauren Day is the Chief Operating Officer of Watershed Advisors. A purpose-driven leader known for guiding complex organizations through transformation, Lauren brings more than a decade of experience at the intersection of strategy, operations, and organizational change across state and local government, education, and the broader social-impact sector.

Prior to joining Watershed Advisors, Lauren was a partner at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she helped lead the firm’s State & Local Government and Education practices in North America and was a founding partner of BCG’s Durham office. Her work focuses on helping public agencies, education systems, and philanthropic organizations strengthen how they operate so they can deliver better, more equitable outcomes for the people they serve.

Before BCG, she held program and operations roles at global development organizations, developing her commitment to building systems that advance equity, accountability, and impact. Outside of work, you can find Lauren near Hillsborough, N.C., with her husband, son James, and their dog learning how to be homesteaders and planting lots of native plants.
