Kate Hoffman
Kate Hoffman is a director at Watershed Advisors, supporting early childhood education.
Most recently, Kate served as a manager on the Policy & State Coalition team at The Commit Partnership, where she advanced early childhood through 12th-grade student outcomes through strategic advocacy with state policymakers in Texas. In this role, she helped secure meaningful reforms in Texas public education—including equitable school finance mechanisms, high-impact tutoring, and high-quality instructional materials—that resulted in more than $1 billion in new investments in the 2023 legislative cycle alone. She also helped lay the groundwork for improvements in early literacy supports and in Texas’s early childhood education governance and data infrastructure.
Before joining Commit, Kate was a pre-K teacher in Washington, D.C. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, where she studied Social Studies with a focus on International Development and Human Rights, and her master’s degree in International Education Policy Analysis from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education. She currently lives in New York City, loves to travel, and enjoys both playing tennis and following the professional tennis tour.
