Darby Scherer

Darby Scherer serves as the People Operations Manager at Watershed Advisors. In this role, she oversees the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, and works to improve employee engagement, development and retention.

Previously, Darby worked as a Fractional Family Office Associate at 49 Financial, where she led cross-functional operations and managed high-touch client experiences. In this role, she coordinated meetings across multiple stakeholders, maintained complex project timelines, and ensured smooth execution of compliance and service deliverables.

As an Assistant Team Lead and Financial Advisor, she directed a team of 20 advisors, driving 50% year-over-year revenue growth by enhancing onboarding, training, and performance management. She also played a pivotal role in recruiting and scaling the Austin team from 10 to 20 advisors and delivering weekly coaching to improve alignment and engagement.

Earlier in her career, Darby supported organizational growth at Retail Strategies by preparing data-driven reports to inform strategic initiatives for municipal clients. At Samford University, she oversaw logistics and event planning for large-scale student programs, managing orientation for over 1,000 participants and supervising teams to deliver high-quality onboarding experiences.

Darby lives in Austin, TX, with her fiancé, Will, and her mini labradoodle, Moose. In her free time, she enjoys connecting with her community, exploring local restaurants, and traveling.
