Dana Maxie is committed to helping high impact organizations and entities achieve long-term goals through strategic planning and implementation. She is currently the Managing Director of Organizational Strategy at Watershed Advisors.
Dana has spent over 20 years serving the educators and children of Louisiana. Through both accelerating and rewarding roles, she devoted the majority of her professional career to supporting statewide educational programs and executive-level leadership through strategic planning and implementation. A self-motivated and relationship building leader who values building trust and relationships to produce transformative results, Dana recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Teaching and Learning, a core function within the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE). Prior to that role, she served as Chief of Staff for the Office of Assessments, Accountability, Early Childhood, and Data/Data Systems where she supported executive leadership and a team of over 200 employees. Her previous roles at the LDOE included monitoring federal programs, managing statewide math and reading online programs for elementary students, and launching the state’s first online testing platform for high school students.
Prior to joining the LDOE, Dana was a Louisiana middle school teacher. Her love for teaching and integrating technology in the classroom led her to pursue advanced degrees in Educational Technology. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Vocational Business Education from Southern University A&M College, her Masters of Education with a concentration in Educational Technology from Northwestern State University, her Educational Specialist and Ph.D. in Computing Technology in Education from Nova Southeastern University.
Dana is passionate about building relationships, cultivating partnerships, and growing educational communities and leaders.
She is a wife and proud mother of two, one son (age 17) and one daughter (age 13).
