Chancey Davis
Chancey Davis is an analyst at Watershed Advisors, supporting the instructional quality team. She is driven by the belief in the power of educational equity, community, and opportunity to transform lives. She is particularly passionate about creating equitable opportunities, supporting multilingual learners, and helping organizations translate ambitious ideas into meaningful impact. As a first-generation college graduate, she is deeply passionate about creating pathways to access for children and educators to thrive, particularly within communities that have historically faced barriers to success.
Prior to joining Watershed, Chancey served as the district-wide Retention and Rewards Specialist at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in N.C., where she lead initiatives focused on educator retention and engagement, leadership development, employee wellness, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, student achievement, and initiatives aimed at strengthening educational systems and workforce sustainability. Her experience spans classroom instruction, developing educators, public administration, and district-level systems work, giving her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing public education.
Chancey began her career in Memphis, Tenn. through Teach for America as an elementary educator, where she developed a passion for supporting students beyond the classroom and creating conditions for educators to thrive. She holds a B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from James Madison University and a Master of Public Administration from UNC Wilmington. She currently resides in Charlotte, N.C.
