Carlee Russell

Carlee Russell is driven by a deep belief in education as a tool for liberation, justice, and systemic change. As a first-generation college graduate, she is passionate about expanding access to high-quality education for all young people—particularly those who have been historically underserved by existing systems.

She currently serves as an Analyst at Watershed Advisors, supporting the Instructional Quality team. Prior to joining Watershed, Carlee worked as a fourth-grade English language arts and social studies teacher at a Title I school in Houston, TX, where she focused on literacy development and culturally responsive pedagogy. She began her career as a program coordinator at Polaris, a national anti-human trafficking nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C., where she helped advance policy and advocacy initiatives.

Carlee earned her B.A. in International Affairs with a minor in Political Science from George Washington University and holds an M.Ed. in Education Policy and Leadership from Boston College. She currently resides in Houston, TX.
