Brett Noble

Brett Noble is a Director at Watershed Advisors serving on the Instructional Quality team. He brings 17 years of experience in public education, with expertise in instructional strategy, academic systems, leadership development, and translating ambitious instructional priorities into coherent practice.

Before joining Watershed, Brett served as Managing Director of Academics at KIPP North Carolina, where he led K-12 academic strategy across the organization’s statewide network of schools. He oversaw the development of an instructional model built around shared curricula, common assessments, continuous coaching, and aligned improvement cycles. During his tenure, KIPP NC achieved several consecutive years of sustained gains in student achievement across the network, with proficiency improving in both reading and mathematics across every school. His work focused on building the systems and leadership capacity necessary to translate a shared vision for excellent instruction into stronger classroom experiences at scale.

Across his 16 years at KIPP, Brett held a range of school- and system-level roles focused on strengthening instruction and developing educators and leaders. He began his career as a high school English teacher, where he was recognized with both the TNTP Fishman Prize for Superlative Classroom Practice and KIPP’s Harriett Ball Excellence in Teaching Award. His passion for teaching continues to ground his work and his belief that strong education systems create the conditions for teachers to thrive and, in turn, for students to reach their full potential.

Brett earned his master’s degree in public education management from The Broad Center at Yale School of Management and his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University. He lives in Durham, North Carolina, with his wife, two children, and two dogs.
