Abbie Nolan

Abbie Nolan believes that a quality, comprehensive education is the key to improving outcomes for students, educators, and communities. As an Analyst at Watershed Advisors, she supports initiatives that improve K-12 instructional quality.

Prior to joining the team at Watershed, Abbie worked in the Center for Education at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to support education sector development in partner countries. In that role, she supported school leaders seeking to remove health and social obstacles to education for vulnerable communities in Boston’s public charter school system, taught English at a vocational school in Cambodia, and coordinated a program for students who recently migrated to the United States. She is a twice-published researcher on the relationship between single-sex education and female empowerment in Uganda and education sector resilience in Finland.

Abbie earned an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Analysis from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a concentration in Global, International, and Comparative Education, as well as a B.A. in International Relations & English from Saint Anselm College. She currently calls Washington, D.C., her home but will always be a New Yorker at heart.
