Cameron Stokes

Passionate about creating equity and opportunities for all children, Cameron’s primary interest lies in college and career readiness and how schools prepare students for life beyond K-12 education. He firmly believes that the phrase “college isn’t for everybody” truly means “college isn’t currently designed for everyone to succeed.”

Prior to Watershed, he served as a College & Career Specialist at the Martha O’Bryan Center in Nashville, Tenn. Cameron began his professional career as a College Adviser through the Virginia College Advising Corps, an AmeriCorps program. During his time as an adviser, he gained insight into the systemic barriers to student success, particularly with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cameron holds a Master of Public Policy in Education Policy from Vanderbilt University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, where he majored in Youth & Social Innovation and Psychology.
