Nagaad Tubea

Nagaad Tubea is an Analyst at Watershed Advisors, supporting the Instructional Quality team on state-level education policy work.

Nagaad brings over eight years of experience in K-12 education, including classroom instruction, grade-level leadership, and advocacy work. A Teach for America alum, she went on to spend several years at YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, teaching Economics, Mathematics, and AP US Government and Politics. Through an advocacy leadership role, she led civic engagement efforts, partnering with the League of Women Voters, Houston’s Election Office, and the Texas Public Charter Schools Association, while empowering her students to take part in civic engagement and exposing them to these same partner organizations. Her interest in policy work began in high school through the School for Ethics and Global Leadership, where she worked on a policy document and presented at the U.S. State Department.

Nagaad earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Texas A&M University. Originally from Houston, she now lives in Austin, Texas. She loves to travel, try new foods, and go on nature walks.
